Questions 1-50 cover who God is, Adam’s and Eve’s creation and fall into sin, an introduction to the covenant of works and the covenant of grace, understanding sin and its effects, and how the Holy Spirit works to change the heart.

Each question and answer has a simple illustration that highlights the primary theological truth. Illustrations offer distinctly reformed, theologically appropriate visuals to reinforce the catechism. Repetition of the visual prompts strengthens memorization and retention.

mom teaching children the catechism at home

After most meals, our family turns to different Bible reading and learning activities. Recently, we’ve reintroduced the catechism through these illustrated catechism cards by Engaging Disability which has definitely engaged our three girls by connecting specific words with pictures and have even allowed them to remember a lot quicker. So happy these are in our lives!
